That is still out of my price range. I am really interested in a small town, older (50 to 100 years or older) home, small with a little land (1/4 acre at least) do not mind commuting up to 80 miles each way per day. What small towns are around there? I have heard that the area is gorgeous. Checked out rentals and they are about 40-50% less than OC. I really want this position, I need to get out of SOCAL. I feel like a hamster on a wheel, work my butt off, make decent money $50k a year and pay over a third of that in taxes, $5,000 cost for my benefits, and $17k (a year) for just my apartment and utilities, I would like to take a vacation sometime, have had two in 30 years. And the quality of life here sucks! Traffic, gangs, smog, weird weather the last couple of years. I am not a beach person so that is not a plus for me. Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knotts etc, costs what an average week's pay is for one day of entertainment for a family of four. A couple going to the movies and dinner on a Saturday night, with one cocktail each will spend a minimum of $100 bucks. |
