they are prime examples of true love....they love you through it all...and you love them just the same. you never can love each other too much. and there's nothing in the world you wouldn't do for each other.
the bible says you should love your spouse more than your children. i was SHOCKED when i read that and went to my pastor and asked all kinds of questions about it., but you know...it almost makes sense. your children...they will grow up, have families of their own, their own lives, possibly move away. and who are you left with dealing with day after day after day...until the day one of you die...your spouse.
i don't love my spouse more than my child...or more than my dogs...or more than my friends. i care about him. i love him...but it isn't the kind of love you have for someone you are going to spend the rest of your life with. it is the kind of love you develop because you know the person intimately and you don't want to see anything bad happen.
it's not the kind of love a marriage needs. i don't like him. at all.
i guess i am just glad i realize these things now...before we had kids together, before we looked at 10 years down the drain.
now, i just have to figure out what to do.....
