I would say first think about how well you know your Dr. and, how well does your Dr. know you. That is the whole reason to have a primary care Physician, for referals and to build a Dr./ patient relationship that would be a little more intimate than say, going to a specialist that you have never seen. Your Primary Dr. needs to be someone you trust and not someone who closes the door on you for such a trivial reason.
I would ask friends in your area if they like thier Dr.'s and why or if you have an OBGYN ask who they like, then call your insurance company to see if they are in your network, choose a new PCP and make a new patient apointment with them right away. They will call your previous Dr. and get your medical records to your new office. It really is as simple as moving a chart, and since that is pretty much all you are to your current MD (a chart) I think its worth a shot.
let us know how everything works out.
