I just want to mention one quick thing about liver shunt. It is possible for your dogs to have normal bile acid tests but throw a puppy who does have a liver shunt...So, you would have to be prepared for something like this. Researchers have not found the genetic marker yet, so there is no genetic test to determine whether a dog carries the gene for producing a pup with liver shunt. That's what makes a difference in breeders...A breeder who is prepared to deal with these situations and a breeder who is not.
Hopefully, you would be buying from a breeder who knows their lines really well, but it's always a possibility...
