I've handled both breeds to a very large degree and in different avenues of competition and please let me honestly tell you that the dog you depict in your photos is NOT a silky. In fact, okay.....don't hate me for this, I'm just being honest since it's been brought up and you were curious, and it's only my opinion, he's simply a poorly bred Yorkie. I don't see anything that leans me towards a silky. If he's got Silky in him at all, it's back beyond three generations if I were to guess. Sorry you thought you had your little one pegged here, but I must give him credit for being a Yorkie! He's just not in proportion w/ the standard of a Yorkie, it happens TOO often, but they're Yorkies nonetheless.

 I like his expression.

btw, his head piece is nothing of a Silky's head. Even a poorly bred one tends to have a different structure even than what your little guy has. I can procure photos for you if you'd like me to point out exactly what I'm seeing in your little guy and just why I'm saying he's not a Silky.
