"One lady said the champions in the bloodlines does not mean much. I disagree."
It doesn't. Get out to shows, get out to vets office...just get out in the dog community and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
If Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie had a child, while they're both accomplished and beautiful it doesn't mean that those children will come out accomplished and beautiful as well. Now do a "breeding" like that over time w/ those progeny...god I can't believe I'm talking about people like dogs, but I figured it'd help show my point....and those initial looks and odds of success get watered down because people just go off of a name. Not a type or true structure AND temperment.
It sure is nice to boast, however, that you come from those two in your lineage....but it means nothing ultimately on who you are today or what you can accomplish based on them. UNLESS the QUALITY of those initial two were strived to be kept and maintained and thus you came about.
There are MANY champions out there that have bad hearts. That have bad knees. That have SEIZURES........MANY of whom are being bred. Do you care? No? What, just because he has a CH. in front of his name?? lmao.......you MUST do your homework on the individual dog prior to getting excited about that CH. in front of his/her name. Otherwise you are not breeding ethically. You're banking on a name...a title to sell your pups and you're doing nothing to serve the breed any real justice for the long term. You then can simply say you love dogs. But you must not love the breed. If you did, you'd want it to thrive and you'd be capable of looking past more than just what's in the pedigree, but moreso the specific dogs within it and their health and temperment.
jm2c for the day!
