I had a friend who brought her puppy home at 6 weeks and spent the next night in emergency hospital because the puppy couldn't handle the stress of a new environment and she paid a huge bill for it. Another friend lost her pup after only a week because the pup caught some disease due to the lower immune system younger pups have plus she was inexperienced too. I know some people like to bring home a younger puppy like 6 to 8 weeks instead of a 12 weeks old but personally, I feel like its a russian roulette game. I am sure there are puppies who would be just fine but younger puppies are more sensitive to environmental changes and weaker immune system. |
