Well when they don't the settle in the lower intestines and tear up the
lining of the stomach and lower intestines. They are like little slivers of
glass. Giving it to a much larger
dog I could see it being ok but a little dog you just might be asking
for trouble.
Seamus has been getting these every year for 6 years now and has never had a problem. I also had these for each and every foster I took in which they took to their forever home. I've never heard of a problem with these. I think rawhide is more of a problem.
