Default AKC and petstores

Here in Canada the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) which is sorta like the Canadian version of AKC does not allow any dog that is sold in a petshop to be registered with them.

I think this is great as it seems the CKC does not to support petshop sales and this also helps with the misconseption of the public that if a dog is licenced it must be healthy, purebred.... I was researching the AKC and found out that around 80% of the dogs that they register are sold in petstores.

Do you feel that the AKC should stop registering dogs that are sold in petstores and do you feel that by registering these dogs they are profiting and contributing to the puppymills?
