Mine goes outdoors because we didn't want problems with confusion about going in the house. However, as with many other posts I have read here, ours does not like wet grass or rain. So we do get "accidents" in the house when it is raining, etc. Also, it would depend on where you live and if there is sufficient grass. We stayed in Minneapolis in a downtown hotel once, and ours did not know what to do because there was no grass.
