It depends on each dog if they even need it done! We do our own and yes it's not very nice at all..make sure you use a paper towel or you could get squirted. ICK Next time you go to the vet - ask them. They will be very happy to help you out and show you what to do. If your dogs glands get impacted they can even blow...that is NOT good at all. Just ask your vet!
