I agree with the previous posters. I know she might want a yorkie, but I one hundred percent believe an animal shouldn't be given as a gift... even if the recipient wants one. It should be a decision that is really thought through by both the gift giver and receiver.

If you are still going to go ahead and buy her a yorkie.. I would try to consider one that is a little older so that you can buy from a responsible breeder and still stay within your price range. A 7-9 month old yorkie is still very much a puppy and will likely be less expensive.

What about rescues? I doubt they will adopt out a yorkie as a gift though, so maybe she could go through the process, and you could pay for it? Just a suggestion.
