Please help our Charlie Can someone Please Help me with Charlie, he is a wonderful 3 yr. old Yorkie. 3 weeks ago Charlie was given a ¼ piece of Tylenol to help with a sore shoulder. A vet told my wife to give him the dose. Within 30 min of hem taking the pill he starts up chucking and falling over and his head started drawing to one side. We rush Charlie to the emergency vet room where he was given IVs and x rayed for any broken bones. After being in the care of the vet for 4 days, he could not walk and could barley hold his head up. The vet didn’t have a clue to what happened to Charlie. We bring him home and decide to take him to another Vet, here he was given high doses of steroid shots and observed. It’s now been 3 weeks now and Charlie still cannot walk. He has felling in his feet and legs, when you pull at his foot he will pull it back under him. He can now hold his head up. He eats and drinks like a pig. When he needs to go to the bathroom he will alert us with his usual bark. When we hold his favorite treat in front of him he will try to lightly push with his back legs. He seems very tired but he is very much alert and aware of what is going on. My wife stays up all night with him making sure he is comfortable and so he doesn’t lay to long on one side. If anyone has any advice our family would greatly appreciate it. We would hate to loose our friend Charlie. |
