if it is kennel cough.. the antibiotics won't do anything.. it is a virus.. the antibiotics are just to prevent it from developing into pneumonia. Again, if it is kennel cough it can last months. Layla had it and it lasted just over a month, i've heard of people on here who's dogs have had it for up to 3 months. The kennel cough vaccine is similar to the flu virus, it can protect against some strands, not all. Try using a humidifier by his bed at night. if you can't do that. go in the bathroom and run hot water... sit with him on the side of the tub (of course avoiding the scortching water!) and let him breathe in the steam. good luck.. kennel cough is a tough one to beat and the coughing just takes over their little bodies.. hard to watch i know.. but it will run its course and be gone
