I think it all depends on the show breeder. Some show breeders actually charge less than you would pay from a backyard breeder and some charge quite a bit more. I would expect to pay anywhere from $1000-$3500. I've never inquired about pricing from the few show breeders I've looked at so I don't know how much they normally charge. I know a couple maltese show breeders that I have saved in my favorites charge $2500-$3500 for a female.
