dew claws need to be removed. the reason they are removed is b/c there is such a curve in the nail that it gets caught on items and the puppy can pull the nail out causing excessive bleeding. the vet can remove it but b/c the puppy will be older, they would have to be put to sleep in order to have them removed. most puppies have them removed from 3days to 5 days old.
so yes, they should be removed.
