Default Grainless homecooking

I am homecooking for my yorkie and golden. I think my golden has allergy issues as she is a constant licker of her her feet. I thought when we swiched from kibble to homecooking it might get better but for a while it got worse. So now I have stopped using grains in thier food and it has gotten better. BUT...

Now my question is...does anyone feed grainless homecooked meals. If so can you please help me out on what to use as base for thier food? Right now I am using potatoes, sweet potatoes and veggies and then mix in whatever meat we will use for the day. I just keep wondering if it's ok to feed so many potatoes day after day.
