Default low protein levels?

I'm worried sick about Lucy. I took Lucy to the vet on Friday September 21 to get her Acid Bile and her full-panel of bloodwork to make sure everything was okay with her spay.

Well on Monday, while i was out of town for business, the vet calls my cellphone and tells me that Lucy's blood levels came back abnormal and that they showed she had Low Protein Levels. They asked me to get a urine sample and drop it off and also reschedule some of her blood tests (which I did, dropped her urine sample off on Friday the 28th and she is getting her blood work re-done on Wednesday).

I have to call teh vet today to find out the results of her urine sample...but I am so worried, what does low protein levels mean? I know that high protein levels usually means liver issues, is it the same with low protein?

They don't want to redo the acid bile test, apparently those numbers came back fine.

ANy information would be great. Thanks
