I think also the quality of Walmarts varies from state to state. Here in So Cal, even the brand new ones are always a madhouse. There's never anywhere to park, the store is messy, clothing falling off the racks, popcorn on the floors, pallets of merchandise that needs to be put on the shelves just blocking the aisles. And if you go looking for something advertised, you're sure to find that not only do they not have it, but you'll probably hear "we didn't get those in". The checkers are often rude, stupid, or both.

On the other hand, when I visited my sister in Kentucky (she had just moved from CA), we went to the walmart there. She said "walmarts here are nothing like they are in CA). It was clean, the people were friendly and helpful, the shelves were well-stocked, and the prices were nice and cheap! And I love getting a good deal!
