I have a Morkie almost the same age. I brush her every day and try to brush the hair away from her eyes till it grows out. After shampooing I use Plush Puppys Blow Dry Cream. It works wonders with combing them out and getting matts out and controlling them. I would never be without it again.
There is the awkward stage where the hair is just unruly - hang in there while it grows out.
