Don't let yourself get discouraged already. Wait until he's about 4 or 5 months old. Then get discouraged.

If you're having trouble even getting him to get started, when you mop up a puddle, wipe some of it on the potty pad. Praise him for even smelling it there. They are "difficult" but they are SMART. Coby is over 7 months old, and we're still working on it.
(In order to save your sanity while you're trying not to get discouraged, consider the belly bands for part of the free time.)
