I agree. Dawn dishwashing detergent will kill the fleas. Dilute it 50% Dawn, 50% water and apply it to a dry dog. Let it sit for about five minutes before rinsing it off. It is drying to she'll want to use a good conditioner afterwards.

20 Mule Team Borax sprinkled in the carpet also kills fleas. Work it in with a broom.

Depending when she is due, her vet may let her apply a topical flea preventative like Advantage or Frontline.

The fleas have been awful this year, the worst I've ever seen, because of the drought.
