I heard that if there is a behaviour that your yorkie is exhibiting, like being scared of the vaccuum or barking when it's on, it's not a good idea to go up to your yorkie and pet him or her and say, awww, it's OK...this makes the dog think that you expect him or her to bark and act all crazy. What I usually do is put Archie in another room or on the couch and just continue vaccuuming. Let him go wild for a minute before he realizes that nothing bad is going to happen. I would give him a treat after vaccuuming if he doesn't exhibit the "bad" behaviour.
