Don't feel bad. Sometimes there just isn't the connection and you can't make yourself feel something you don't. Maybe you can keep him until you can find him a really great home? Even if you have to give him away for free?
I could be wrong, but it seems like you've lost a yorkie(by your posting name)? When you have a pet that you really loved sometimes the next pet just doesn't measure up to the first one. It's not something you can explain, it's just a feeling. There was a lady on here who's pet had died(well, it turned out differently) but she got a puppy and wasn't happy because it was too soon and it wasn't the dog she loved. She felt horrible giving it back but NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON could blame her. A new pet should make you happy and the new pet should be happy. I always feel if both parties aren't happy then it's best to rehome them and find that special connection. Maybe while you're trying to find him a home you'll bond but if that doesn't happen, don't beat yourself up.
Sometimes it takes a dog a few different homes until they find that perfect match. It's not like you said you were going to take him to the pound, geeze. It's not the end of the world for him or you. Plus, with him being young it'll be easier for him to adjust. Good luck and cheer up. |
