She said he was "on the road" to being housebroken, but crapped in the house twice even though we took him out. That's frustrating.
I feel that all members of this household, animal and human, need to get along perfectly. Yeah, it's only one day, but I can foresee problems on the horizon between the cats and this one, and if it comes to choosing I'd have to keep the kitties because they were here first.
I tried fooling myself for a while into thinking I liked how he looked and his personality was great for this house, but reality sinks in fast for me. |
Oh gosh, this kinda gives me a lump in my throat. I can't help but put myself in this little dog's place....
if I was the "subject" of the above feelings, boy would I hide too. This little dog is picking up on all of the above, how else could it react but fear, hiding, skittish, forgetting his potty training...?
I commend you for your honesty, but maybe he'd do better in a different home and then you'd be free to find one that melts your heart - maybe that would be the win-win for all. Good luck.
