I hope I don't sound to rude by saying this but some people are just overly sensitive. It's the internet- not real life.. nothing to lose sleep over.

them symbols sometimes give you an idea about the way they are saying their points... That darn exclamation mark! And yes.. sometimes people have to realized that you don't have to care about the other person's opinion because you dont know them and someone else will have better one
