Do you have the option of returning him to the breeder (or whoever you got him from) if it's not working out? If the person you got him from will let you, I'd give it a week and see how it goes and if it's not working out, then it's not working out. If you don't like the way he looks, that's probably not going to change too much since he is an older puppy...although a dog can look SO much different depending on if they have long or short hair. I know you prefer the long hair, as do I, and I understand looks being important because honestly, they are to me too (to a point anyway). Do you think he'll look prettier once his hair grows out? Just don't keep him too long and then decide you want to rehome him...if it's not working out, rehome him before he gets attached to you.
