5lbs is still VERY small. If the 5lb dogs was really that much bigger than your 3.5lbs dog, it probably didn't weight 5lbs. Also, weight in itself doesn't tell you anything..it all depends on the dogs frame and if that weight is healthy for that dog's frame. My parents have a small framed-yorkie (short legs, short body) and he is 7lbs...he is overweight and should probably weight more like 5.5lbs. He is a very small dog...just has a round little belly. Lacy is also 7lbs but looks larger than my parents yorkie because she has a longer body and longer legs...she is just at a healthy weight. So they weigh about the same but my dog is really the larger one.
Also, your dog is not going to stay 3.5lbs if she is only 4 months old. She still has quite a bit of growing to do and will probably be 5-6lbs full grown. Still a very small dog.
