My girl friend is 49 and just had cataracts removed from both eyes. She did great, had an easy recovery. Early this year, I was diagnosed with an early cataract in my left eye. It is far from ready for surgery, but bad enough that it is impairing my vision beyond correction. Interesting, after a few months I no longer noticed the blurring. I think my brain is learning to look out of the other eye! You are in good company!
