Default We have been very busy at UYR!!

Hi Yorkie Lovers!!
I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while.
We have been incredibly busy with many new rescues. Some of them are very ill.
We recently rescued a 10 month old owner surrender who was so ill that he slipped into a coma. We suspected a liver shunt from his symptoms.
Sadly his owner never had a labwork done even though he had been sick for many months.
We drew bloodwork and started him on the meds for a shunt but unfortunately we did not get to him soon enough and he went to the Bridge early yesterday morning.
We are getting a 3 month old 1# Yorkie this weekend that will be transported to TN to be near UT for further treatment and a Liver Shunt is suspected in this puppy as well. I an praying that we can help him get well.
I cannot stress enough to have bile acids (serum) done on all puppies.
This breaks my heart that we can't help all of them.
THANK YOU THANK YOU for helping us help these sick babies.
Much love,
Mary Sullenberger
