I don't think it's gross in the least - it's called nature! My boys each have a "lover" and they usually do their bit around 9pm (clockwork), they NEVER hump humans. I think the look on their faces is pretty cute - they are SO determined.
Humans do pretty "gross" things and our dogs don't judge us, so I figure I owe them the same respect.
