Is he drinking normally? If he can't urinate, it's very important that you take him back to the vet. This happened to Miko a couple of yrs ago, and I had to take him to the emergency vet. My yorkie seemed okay too, at first, and then it got to the point where he wouldn't stop trying to pee and nothing would come out. We immediately took him to the vet and they put a catheter in...It turned out that he had stones/crystals blocking the pee from coming out. His bladder was getting very full. If they wouldn't have put a catheter in him, his urinary bladder could have burst. This could have killed him. Anyway, they analyzed the stones/crystals and found out that they were ammonium urate stones/crystals which are formed many times by dogs who have compromised livers. It's very important that they check your dog for crystals and stones...They won't necessarily show up on an x-ray...Ammonium urate stones only show on an ultrasound. Just a few weeks before this happened, he had been diagnosed with liver problems. I took him to get a bile acid test because he had a couple of issues with UTIs and I wasn't satisfied with what the vets were telling me. And the weekend before the test, he had a seizure out of the blue. He was only 9 months old at the time all this happened...
