I think it is because they get bored. The taping may help. I used that with some of mine before I switched over to the washable potty pads. They can't shred them. It has been a lifesaver for me! It's not fun cleaning up bits of wet torn up paper potty pads. They frames can help some too, but eventually they figure out how to rip them out of there also.

I usually sell ones that I re-cover with cute prints, but won't have time to sew for awhile, so am offering these as an alternative.
