if you don't want a lot of "extras" but just want a phone to use for emergencies and stuff...you can get an unlimited plan for like $29 /month. for an extra $10/month (I think) you can get unlimited text and long distance and stuff like that. it all comes with voicemail, call waiting, caller id, etc. but even if you go with the "mack daddy" plan with nationwide calling etc, it is only $49/month which is still cheaper than most other plans where you are limited on your minutes. it is what i use for work cuz I go through about 4,000 minutes a month for work. my personal phone is through cingular and i RARELY use it.
