My husband wanted a large dog for awhile too. I think it's a "macho" thing with them. Anyway I told my husband if he got one then he would be the one who stays home with it 24-7 to train it and take care of it. With two Yorkies to groom, bathe walk twice a day and such, there is no way I'm taking on a big dog.
He realized he would not have the time it takes to deal with a large dog and wouldn't be fair to try and put it on me.
