If people that want to own a PittBull terrier understand that, there would be less of a problem with them.
Anyone getting any breed should know what the propensities of that breed are. Some people get a dog, as we know all breeds, and really never think about the big picture of getting one. The responsabilities. There are certain/particular responsabilities that go with a dog of that size and natural bred in power. Not everyone thinks about that. |
Why would anyone take this kind of chance? Eventually, once my children move out of the house, I would like to get a Doberman. I think that they are a beautiful breed of dog. However, I WILL NOT do it while I have kids in my own house or while I have any other animals in the house. I do not want to take the chance of them getting bit or even worse. We have tons of ads in our paper of people selling pits and it sickens me. I'm just waiting to read the news of someone in our town getting mauled or killed by one of these animals. But in honesty, I think that they are being used for dog fights and then dumped.
Just on YT, do a search on Pit Bulls and see what you find.
Also, the neighbor had another Rott...female many years ago. Same situation. Raised in the home with the kids. When their youngest girl was 6 or 7, she was outside eating an ice cream cone. This loving dog that they had attacked her. Grabbed her by the head and was slinging her around like a rag doll. They are damn lucky that this loving...raised with the kids Rott did not kill their daughter.
