There is a pair of dobermans on my street, Chip hasn't quite totally warmed up to them yet. They are the typical guard dog doberman, without being vicious so everytime we walk by they bark like crazy. We've approached them a couple of times, they are friendly and quiet down after a sniff. Also they are both female and Chip is all about the boys
