If people that want to own a PittBull terrier understand that, there would be less of a problem with them.
I understand that Scotties were bred to kill vermin...rats, mice, badgers and the like. They went in holes and fought the animal out. I watch VERY carefull all the time with Roxy. She moves like a rabbit as we know Yorkies do. Libby understands that Roxy is a dog and that she is a baby...but instinct is strong. I never leave them alone together unsuprvised. Never. I know where Libbys breed comes from through history....and they are a very old breed in comparison.
Anyone getting any breed should know what the propensities of that breed are. Some people get a dog, as we know all breeds, and really never think about the big picture of getting one. The responsabilities. There are certain/particular responsabilities that go with a dog of that size and natural bred in power. Not everyone thinks about that. |
