A splitter is a yorkie that has one piebald gene and one traditional yorkie gene. It looks like a yorkie and might have a bit of white (chest spot, a white toe). We register them as yorkies. You get a splitter by breeding a yorkie or a splitter with a Biewer. Any resulting puppies that look like traditional yorkies are splitters. It just tells us that it has one gene for the piebald characteristic.
