My attitude about this breed is different than all others. So I do agree with you, txshopper73.

Here is why:

My grandmother had a Doberman for years. The grandkids were all over her all the time. She loved grandma and took her cues from how granma acted.

One day she had a cuple guys come to her secluded home on a big farma dn try to break in while she was there! Her Dobe stood the door on them. She stood teeth bared while grandma was on the phone to the police.

She followed them around in the inside of the house while they were looking for a door to get in where the Dobe was not. There was none. THAT dog was all over threatening them and baring the teeth at them. When the police got there She was calm and relaxed...she knew that they were friend.

After the Dobe died (old age), my grandmother got a PittBull. From her nephew a vet from a "well bred" line.

Her name was Katie....She was slow in making a connection when she saw someone. She could know them but she would come at the door like she wa taking it down....even family. I would call her name out. Katie, Katie, Katie. Finally it would connect what I was saying and she would step down. Thank goodness there was a door between us ...solid oak. Grandma could be calling at her from inside the house too. She didn't make a quick connection. She wasn't stupid either.

This was before all th hoopla about the breed. They think differntly.

They are something other than just a dog. They were bred as killers killing machines.
