I don't think it is that the MS itself does it, but as the muscles continue to weaken they simply don't work as well and eventually will stop working altogether. It is a long process, but the general life expectancy of people with MS and other such diseases is usually less than that of a "healthy" individual. Hugs to you and your daughter...
