Default Anyone heard of Myasthenia Gravis?

My friend has a shepherd mix that is very sick. The vet thinks he has Myasthenia Gravis. They are waiting for the blood tests to come back. But are not treating him. He has an enlarged esophagus. Myasthenia Gravis causes muscular weakness. He can hardly keep anything down. She has to give him a bag SubQ fluid everyday. He hardly eats and drools all the time and throws up. Today he had trouble walking and she had to carry him. He has been to the vet 4 times. Does anyone have any experience with this disease? She is very concerned the vet is not doing enough. She has read a lot on line but there isn't much information on exact treatments. He is 6 years old. The vet told her to feed him and give him water standing up and make him stand for 10 minutes, that is pretty hard to do. Thanks for any help you can give.
