There are a lot of places that won't even hire you until after you turn 16 so the petstore might not even want to hire you since you are only 15. I worked at a vet clinic from the time I was 14-18 (all throughout highschool). My parents never told me I had to get a job - I wanted to work there because I wanted to be a vet and needed experience. And it paid off because I'm in vet school now. I just worked a few hours a week during the school year and quite a bit more during the summer. If you want an animal related job that isn't a petstore, I'd try to apply at a vet clinic. The most important thing is to find a job you enjoy doing because you don't want to be miserable at your job, and I'm sure the owner/manager of the business doesn't want a miserable employee
