I have 2 problems. My yorkies are 4-1/2 months old. Their ears flop. The vet says no taping. Should I? Will they stand on their own?

Second problem--I have been locking "the girls" up in the kitchen with a baby gate and putting puppy pads down. One will pee and poop on the pads. The other goes where she goes. When I let them out, they both go crazy and pee & poop everywhere. What top do?
