I don't know about the rules and ethics in your state, but here, the owner of the mother keeps it if there is only one. Also, you two didn't agree and sign a contract. Didn't you say you were at a friends house when this happened? If the puppy is a nice size and healthy, and the mother delivers without complication, you may want to talk to your friend and sign an agreeable contract for the next breeding. I think I recall you saying he was taller than your female but thinner....so that may not be advisable. If your girl is 8lbs she would need to breed with a smaller male. Try to work out a stud fee that is agreeable; most people pay a stud fee and not "pick of the litter". A stud fee is usually less than the price of a puppy. It would be advisable to be fair. |
