I used to give them to Sadie (didn't have Lillie yet)..After all the info that came out about them I stopped. She LOVED them. Even though they came out with a new formula I still don't feel good about giving them to the girls.
As for the vets saying they are safe....Vets also say that Science Diet is a good food to feed.....it isn't. I just don't think they research enough and just assume they are ok. MO
