I wish!!! Our middle school was loaning tubas to other highschools last year! lol
The district Kates in is the most well to do in the area, so that is a great thought, but if any school would be passing them on it would be ours...
And tubas are really not an instrument you pass on... if a school is kucky enough to get one, they keep it! one of ours is 30 years old! And a real beauty! Covered in dents and sounds amazing! We've serviced it more times than you could believe, we keep books on all of the instruments. Our booster org is non profit so our tax time is FUN! But the repair bills add up and we can account for every penny! It goes fast! Its not cheap to run a good program. And we donate alot to the other schools and other programs. If we found a good deal on a Tuba locally, Her teacher would snap it up! She always does! We just bought 23 instruments at the local Pawn shop! They were having a 50% off sale! We ended up buying a French Horn for $800.00 that was stolen from another school district and we are returning it to them. But we really scored at that place!!! 23 instruments for $6,000.00!!!!! A total steal!
I went and bought a trombone, a $2000.00 trombone for Kate and only paid 300 for it! It was BRAND NEW! And a seriously amazing brand! I NEVER could have bought her a brand new Trombone! It was an amazing find! We bought a few flutes for $50! We were like kids in a candy store!!!
