I too have that fear, everytime I take Maggie out. With me, I am a great deal older, I try to watch my footing. It's something that I think about on every step I take. I have fallen, but never with Maggie in my arms. I take her out on a leash, even though the yard is fenced. This way if I fall, she won't go down with me.
