I have exactly the same situation as yours. My boy, Kimchee, just passed his 2nd birthday last week. He doesn't show any interest in playing with other dogs, but he likes some (not all) of our friends with all his heart. We are planning to get a Yorkie girl so they can play together. I am also worry if they will get along. I think I will first pick a pup that is very mild like Kimchee, so that the new pup will not be too bossy than Kimchee. Then to watch them closely when they interact to make sure they get along. I am also thinking of taking Kimchee to meet the new pup at the breeder place before it is ready to go home with us so that they will know each other in advance. I also learned that we should introduce them outside of home, such as a park, so that the first dog will not feel intruded.
