I don't know for sure, i guess it would depend on which pollens bother her. Otis has allergies and is on hydroxyzine twice daily. I don't notice any sedation, but it certainly helps his licking and scratching. It doesn't take it away completely. The thing that surprised me is that he is 3 yrs old and this is the first year he's had this problem. My vet said it was like hayfever that people have. She also said that being outside doesn't make it any worse (which kind of confuses me). I'm hoping after the first frost he won't have to be on the pills anymore. His eyes are very watery and he does try to rub them sometimes. Good luck with Layla!
